On 10-11 June 2026, the SOLINDARITY consortium gathered in Bielefeld, Germany, for its General Assembly, hosted by project partner BOGE Compressed Air Systems GmbH & Co. KG, marking an important milestone as the project enters its 30th month of implementation.
Over two productive days, partners reviewed the significant progress achieved across all work packages, assessed the status of ongoing technical developments, and aligned on the activities planned for the final phase of the project. The meeting provided an opportunity to consolidate results, strengthen collaboration among partners, and ensure that the project remains on track to deliver innovative solutions for industrial decarbonisation through high-temperature heat pump technologies.
A highlight of the meeting was a technical visit to BOGE’s facilities, where consortium members gained first-hand insight into the company’s expertise and manufacturing capabilities. As a key industrial partner in SOLINDARITY, BOGE is responsible for the design and manufacturing of the turbo groups that drive the project’s high-temperature heat pumps. The visit offered valuable perspectives on the development process and facilitated discussions on the integration of advanced compressor technologies within the project’s demonstration systems.

Following the General Assembly, the consortium organised the second SOLINDARITY workshop, entitled “Turbo Compressor Technologies for High-Temperature Heat Pumps.” Held in a hybrid format, from Bielefeld and online, the workshop brought together researchers, industry experts, and technology developers to discuss recent advances in compressor technologies for high-temperature heat pump applications. The programme featured presentations on centrifugal steam compressors for high-temperature heat pumps by the German Aerospace Center (DLR), design challenges for supercritical CO₂ compressors by Politecnico di Milano, and analyses of radial compressor instability and surge detection by experts from Carrier Global Corporation and the University of Genoa. The workshop provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange on one of the key enabling technologies for industrial heat pump systems, highlighting both current achievements and future development pathways.

As SOLINDARITY advances towards its final stages, the outcomes of the General Assembly and workshop reinforce the project’s commitment to accelerating the deployment of innovative, energy-efficient solutions that support the decarbonisation of industrial heat processes.
