An EU-funded project, focuses on decarbonising industrial processes through an
integrated Solar Energy-based Heat Upgrade System (SEHUS). This innovative system
combines solar energy (both thermal and photovoltaic), high-temperature heat pumps,
thermal energy storage, and waste heat recovery to significantly reduce carbon
emissions in the industrial sector.
Solar Thermal panels provide solar heat which can be stored
A High Temperature Heat Pump upgrades the solar heat to Industrial process levels
High-efficiency Tracking PVs
panels with novel coating
provide power to the HTHP
A Digital Twin and AI-enabled process control is used to optimize system efficiency based on actual industrial
process needs
3 Industrial demo site in the food, rubber, and paper sector
Business Models, Dissemination and replication in EU and
beyond, with a special focus on the solar resource-rich Mediterranean region
SOLINDARITY will address major technical challenges in integrating these modules into existing process plants. Through following processes the project aims to optimise resource management, matching available resources with industrial power and heat needs.
